Information for New Parents
Welcome to this page which will be dedicated to providing as much information as possible about our school for new parents. We hope it can also be used by other parents who want to know more about St. Mary's and what goes into making it the school we are so proud of. We welcome children and families from all backgrounds and religions and we pride ourselves on being a very close and supportive family. Should you have any further questions, please get in contact with us at any time at all, we will be very happy to answer any queries you may have.
If you would like to arrange a visit to see our school, I would be delighted to take you on a personal tour myself at a time that is convenient to you. We recommend that this is sometime during the day so you can see our children at work and play - this will allow you to get an accurate feeling for our school. During a visit, I also like to ask our children to tell you what makes our school special to them as our children are the heart of our school. We have shown 56 different parents around our school in the last 3 years and we are proud to say that 95% of those parents chose St. Mary's for their children. We have some spaces in certain year groups but even if we are full, we can often accommodate new children. I will really look forward to meeting you in the future!
Many thanks,
Mr Mashiter (October 2024)

Information about School Dinners and Snacks
The school meals are cooked on the premises in our own school kitchen. There is a choice of menu. Menus are sent home on a 4 weekly basis for parents and children to choose. Our school chef, Kelly Law, is always delighted to talk about individual preferences that children may have if they have certain allergies. We try our best to cater for the tastes of all children by providing a wide variety of meals.
School dinner’s are £2.40 per day and this money is payable in advance on Friday mornings. This can be paid on the school's ParentPay system. All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state – funded schools in England are offered a Universal Free School Meal (UFSM).
Children who do not have a school meal bring a packed lunch in a secure container labelled with the child’s name. Water is available but many parents prefer to supply a carton of drink. Children should not bring glass bottles, cans, fizzy drinks or sweets
into school.
The National Fruit Scheme provides free fresh fruit for all infant children each day.
Children may also like to have a mid-morning snack. We welcome fruit and vegetables (other treats such as sweets, chocolate, crisps or gum are not allowed).
