As with all of our topics, we make sure that Geography and History link with our English units. As an end of term outcome for their English unit, Class 3 presented a piece about how we need to look after our environment with a direct focus on plastics.

Our local environment

With our outdoor classroom and waste plastics initiative, we make sure that 'caring for our common home' is a theme that runs all the way through our curriculum. We now have a partnership with the local 'Wham' company who recycle used plastics, visit our school to talk to the children and offer tours of their factory where they talk about the jobs they offer young people in the area as well as how they convert thousands of tons of used plastics a day into household products.
