CAFOD

"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

(Acts 20:35)

We are active supporters of CAFOD and do all we can throughout the year to raise money for the various worthy causes that they support. We involve our CAFOD representative, Bob Turner (below), throughout the year and he has done some valuable work with classes throughout the school, as well as whole school Worships, to raise awareness of what we can each do to make a difference...

CAFOD Fundraising

CAFOD World Gifts

Bob Turner joins us in June 2023 for a CAFOD inspired Assembly

As part of our plans for Lent this year, and with the help of CAFOD, we have focused on their latest initiative, 'World Gifts' (see above).

Our GIFT Team invited 10 schools from the local area to focus on this initiative through a special Lenten workshop. (see below).

Our GIFT Team also led a Whole School Worship to telling children all about 'World Gifts' and how we can do our bit to raise money through our 'Coins for CAFOD' charity event and 'Lenterprise'.

Caring for our Common Home

The Amazon rainforest is crucial to the planet’s climate, but people are not caring for our common home, caring for the Amazon region, and both the rainforest and the climate are in a critical state.

More than one football pitch of rainforest in the Amazon is being lost every minute. This cannot go on. But we can do our bit and help the communities in the Amazon defend the rainforest this Lent.

We will be holding a fun football fundraiser in March/April. On this date, children will be able to come to school in their favourite football or sports kit and FUNDA will hold a special football related event for each class. In the meantime, please could you collect as much money as possible for this worthy cause to be collected back in school by Friday April 3rd?

Whatever you are able to raise, it will make a massive difference, helping communities in the Amazon to defend their land and save their homes.

Bob Turner came into school to tell us all about the CAFOD fundraising theme this year. On March 18th, we will have a non-uniform day filled with footballing activities in association with FUNDA as the culmination to our fundraising efforts.
